Anything that will speed your heartrate. Sit ups, Push ups, squats, or anything like that won’t make you lose weight. Those exercises will just increase your lean muscle thus making you gain weight. Though the more lean tissue you have the more calories you will burn throughout the day.
Treadmills, Jump ropes, jumping jacks, jogging in place or anything along those lines. Cardio is the only way to burn calories the fastest. The longer you can go with your heartrate up the more effective your body converts fat into energy. References :

I used to set my timer on my dryer to go off in 10 mins, then I would run up and down the stairs. Works great as long as you have stairs. Gives you a good cardiovascular as well as burns calories. Wasn’t as boring to do and I found that I stuck with it more. References :

But if you want to loose weight, you will have to walk at a good pace least 30minutes a day. Eat 3 balanced meals. Cut out all pops, junk, fatty foods and sugar. You will drop weight you’ll see.
You can also wall 2x 15 minutes a day wich will add up to 30 minutes a day. Do that and dance another 15 minutes. then you’ll have a 45 minutes work-out. References :
