I’ve been looking into do a simple, but effective workout routine. I have also read that isometric exercises both tone and enlarge your muscles, but retaining your strength too. I just want to know if there are any isometric exercises out there that can tone legs. Also do you burn any fat from isometric exercises.
Isometrics is based on the principles of creating muscular tension while opposing the force of an immovable object or gravity. Both, Yoga and Pilates are based on the principles of Isometrics: holding your body in a static, neutral alignment with body positions of Your choice.

Isometric exercises are done in a static postion without a range of movement. These are good to include in a workout as they do help strengthen muscles but aren’t effective at burining fat as you aren’t moving.
You are better off doing big compound movements which involve lots of muscles at once, build the most strength and use up the most calories. These include, squats, deadlift, bench press, bent over rows, dips etc.
